Danny Dorsey, the visionary and founder of Clean Start Foundation, had a profound spiritual experience when he went through treatment himself as he watched fathers being reunited with their children. He saw that there was a chance for him to start his life over and no longer be a victim of his addiction. Through his transformational recovery journey, he was not only able to reunite with his own children, but has continuously been committed to helping families and their loved ones repair their relationships and begin a new life filled with love, happiness, and forgiveness. Danny says, “I was given the gift of a new life, everyone deserves that gift.”

Danny had a vision very early on in his recovery to create a scholarship program to help fund people’s treatment so that they could recover from addiction and/or mental health disorders. He knew that his purpose in this lifetime was to help people find the life of their dreams and not let money be the reason why they couldn’t receive the opportunity to recover. Therefore, the mission of Clean Start Foundation continues to thrive as an organization because the heart and soul of its mission is purely one of compassion and humility. Danny has worked in the field of behavioral health since he first walked out of treatment because he knew he wanted to give back to those that had humbly helped him along his own recovery journey.
Throughout Danny’s career in behavioral health, it always pained him to not be able to help those without resources find the recovery that they were desperately seeking. Therefore, when he was able to finally realize his vision to be able to provide the financial support to help those seeking treatment, he was not only fulfilling a dream but also creating something that can help the countless individuals who want a new life, but don’t have the access to treatment due to financial constraints.
At Clean Start Foundation, we know first-hand the pain addiction causes a person, their loved ones, and their community. We also know about being given a second chance at life and have been called to provide that opportunity for individuals who are suffering and want the support and care they deserve. At Clean Start, the goal is to give those seeking to change their life the tools they need to succeed in their recovery journey while sharing the hope and joy that recovery offers.
